I think it is a good place for budget travelers. The food portions were good, and I'd say it's quite cheap for this location, it is not that far from the Notre Dame. The food was good enough for us, we paid in total 33€ for two people (mussels, French fries, onion soup, steak with sides, creme brulee and a glass of bear). Free table water and pieces of baguette.

I was here multiple times during my staying in Paris, this place has decent food and also good offers of appetizer main and dessert for 19 Euro, which is good price for 3 meals. It was my first time trying onion soup, it was very tasty and I really loved this meal, but unfortunately escargots are bad, so not recommend to try them. Duck is tasty and desert are also tasty. Definitely recommend to visit this place, even though it does feel like they do not really liked English speaking people, but people celebrated birthday there and also came with kids, so I think this means something about this place

Nestled in the heart of Paris’s vibrant 5th arrondissement, L'Auberge Saint-Séverin offers a genuine taste of French culinary tradition along the iconic Rue Saint-Séverin. This charming restaurant blends classic Parisian ambiance with a cozy, inviting atmosphere that enhances every meal.

The menu is a tribute to French gastronomy, boasting highlights such as rich moules-frites—mussels served with crisp fries—a comforting bowl of onion soup bursting with caramelized sweetness, and the indulgent fondue bourguignonne, where tender meat meets sizzling oil. Traditional dishes like escargots de Bourgogne and boeuf bourguignon showcase culinary craftsmanship, while delights like crème brûlée provide the perfect end to any meal.

What stands out is the balance between authenticity and accessibility. The ingredients feel fresh, the portions generous without excess, and prices remarkably reasonable for a location just steps from Notre Dame. This makes it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers seeking genuine French flavors without breaking the bank.

From the first bite of the buttery mussels to the lingering warmth of the duck breast and the smooth finish of a perfectly caramelized crème brûlée, each dish carries a deep, comforting resonance. While the escargots may divide opinions, the overall quality holds strong, supported by friendly, if sometimes brisk, service and a lively street-side dining experience.

In essence, L'Auberge Saint-Séverin is more than a restaurant—it’s an approachable gateway to traditional Parisian cuisine where both flavor and atmosphere converge beautifully.
